The largest conical burial mound in North America, raised by the Adena people over two thousand years ago.
Grave Creek Mound rises 62 feet high and 240 feet across, built basket-load by basket-load around 250–150 BCE. Excavations uncovered burial chambers and the controversial Grave Creek Stone, inscribed with undeciphered glyphs. An adjacent archaeological complex interprets the site's prehistory.
